It's going to be interesting to see the young guys playing all at once!

Morning skate has Schaller on the wing with Krejci and Backes? Not sure I'm into that move. I wouldn't mind seeing Czarnik get some time on the second line. Nash didn't look terrible with Bergeron and Marchand either... he played the cycle game pretty well.

Yup! If you're at all interested in the kids this is the time to watch. Nash played well on the Bergeron line. Not sure I like the Schaller move but we'll see how it works. He may be a bottom 6 guy after all. Love to see him get a shot I lived in Merrimack, NH for 7 years so there is some civic pride there Schaller. Hope he succeeds.

Schaller has been a pleasant surprise. He sticks out to me in the bottom 6, in a good way. Him and Moore have provided some stability. Spooner is in the doghouse and I dont necessarily agree with it. Krejci has turned it around a bit but he still doesnt seem 100% to me.

Wouldn't mind a line shakeup to get Krejci and Pasta back together. I think Krejci would benefit from that a ton. And as good as that top line has been, I don't think it makes sense to have our two best shooters on the same line

I like the c. Miller/morrow combo so far.

They will likely give up numerous goals from the second through third periods because I opened my mouth.

McQuaid had a horrible first period and these tools at nesn have not mentioned his name. Don't understand the piling on of a C. Miller or Morrow but no mention of the older vets.

If Miller or morrow had that bad of a first they wouldn't see the ice the rest of the game. At least with the younger guys there is a chance they improve, k. Miller and McQuaid make these mistakes and it's been the same poop for the last few seasons with them.

The Penalty shot shouldn't have even been a minor penalty, the pasta dive was a stupid call and that non call on the Beleskey slash was pathetic as well.

Not good for them, 100% agree and it's not even homerism.

ADDED: Played a solid game. Thought the younger guys on D stood out as being solid tonight.

K. Miller + McQuaid is basically equal to one mediocre defensive defenseman worth 5.25M per year. Wouldnt mind sending one of them packing and giving O'Gara another look.

I think Killer has more upside. Could move McQuaid to a team looking for depth. Wouldn't expect a huge return though.

Either way, ditching one of them and their salary will be for the best long term. I'm sure Benning would take McQuaid in a heartbeat.

I don't think they played terribly last night, but the offense has to get going. With this pieced together defense, if they can hold a team to two goals, that's pretty damn good. The offense needs to be able to put up some more points though.

Mason looked pretty shaky last night, yet he still had like 40-something saves? Two goals on him with all of those shots with the way he was playing... that's just not good enough.

As someone mentioned, I'd like to see them move Pasta back with Krejci, but the downside of that is I feel like that's punishing him for playing well... I just think with Bergeron, Marchand, and Pastrnak on the first line, that's just too top heavy, and they should spread the talent around a little more. Can't wait until Vatrano comes back and they've got another shoot first mentality guy on the top 2 lines (hopefully).

I'd be fine with either of them going... just seems wrong to have both of them on the roster. My attachment to McQuaid is that he's played for a while with Krug, and they seem to pair pretty well together. I think Krug deserves (aka has earned) a better partner though.

If they could make a move, I'd feel a whole lot better with something along these lines:

Chara - Shattenkirk
Krug - Carlo
K Miller/C Miller/Morrow/McQuaid (whoever's left over)

(also think of the marketing possibilities of a Miller/Miller bottom pairing... If I close my eyes, I can already see the "ITS MILLER TIME" t-shirts outside of the Garden.)
